Four Robbers essential oil blend is an all-natural antibacterial blend of essential oils. The name comes from a legend about the 4 thieves that dates back to the medieval times when the plague was rampant. As the legend goes there were four thieves that would steal from the corpses of those that died from the plague (a deadly infectious disease caused by bacteria). These thieves were not originally chased, because everyone just thought they would die from the plague. After some time they were eventually apprehended and traded their secret for their freedom. They didn't understand microbiology like we do now, but they were washing with a combination of herbal vinegar that was killing the bacteria that caused the plague. Our Four Robbers scent is based on a modern version of this vinegar. Clove is the predominant scent of this blend.
