Chickweed (Stelleria media) is generally considered a weed, in that it is often an unwanted plant. The plant is both edible and nutritious, and can be used as a leaf vegetable, often in raw salads. As an herbal remedy it is commonly used to treat hot, itchy and inflamed skin problems such as rashes, clean wounds, and bug bites. Chickweed may sooth severe itchiness where all other remedies have failed. Our chickweed salve combines oils infused with chickweed, plantain, and comfrey to create a salve that is fairly soft at room temperature and easy to apply.
